ps power antenna is for automatic aerials that extend when you turn the radio on. its not a power supply for the aerial - they dont have one

Didn't the 97 onwards Disco's have the aerial built into one of the side rear windows?
Maybe it *might* need some power  :?:
I cant be sure though

P38a aerial is amplified, but I've not noticed one on the Disco.

If the antenna is printed into the side windows(s) then there are amplifiers mounted in the headlining above the windows. Right hand side amp is FM + AM, left hand side (if fitted) is FM only. In the UK there might only be an antenna in the right hand window and therefore only one amp.

All Window mounted FM ants require power.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Not wanting to start a row here :D  but why would a receiving antenna need power ~ no matter where it's mounted?

Most window mounted aerials are very directional, to compensate they have power amplifiers built in to artificially boost the aerials gain.

Audi 100 I had had the amp buried in the rear pillar and the aerial was actually the demister. Senator had one in the dash attached to a tiny 'bee-sting' aerial. I'm sure I've heard of similar used in LR cars.

Ok, we're talking a difference in terminology here then. When you said "power" I thought you meant volts and amps but really you were referring to an amplifier. S'okay  :D
