like the title states really, for those who live in north norfolk be aware there have be a number of thefts in my area (between aylsham and north walsham) for area equipment. im not talking rakes and spades, my dad had a £400 hedge cutter nicked possibly last monday. thieving [person of questionable parentage]. he only had it two weeks, hasnt even paid for it yet and they went into my neighbors garden, jumped the boundary fence behind our security light and broke into our back door for the work shop. like i said, there has been a number of thefts, a guy a couple of houses down had some garden machinery nicked and a land scape garden further up our village had a another hedge cutter nicked from his yard. and these are only the ones i know about. just to let you know, i worried they might start nicking some from my 4x4 next

One trick I think they are doing is this, well it's happened in Shropshire to friends of ours, and other local farms, and they put two and two together;

Some dodgy rep turns up to sell you either a new piece of farming equipment, or consumables for your existing equipment.  Apart from selling you stuff he's casing the joint.

Same dodgy rep obviously has a few bad buddies he tells, and within a couple of weeks the new equipment or your existing equipment is nicked.

So never buy equipment or consumables from a rep that arrives unsolicited, tell the bar-stewards you're not interested and send them away.

Maybe this 'trick' bears no relation to your experience, but maybe it will to some of you.
