Went to Tax the Motorbike today.... £15 for a year...

Talk about cheap motoring, 130mpg, £70 a year insurance and £15 to tax.

Now any anti gives me a hard time about driving a 4x4, I can say I'm doing my bit.
If want to walk it walk it, if you want to ride it ride it just leave me alone to drive it!

So am I...  my recumbent bike doesn't cost anything to tax, MOT or insure, and it's a zero emissions vehicle, notwithstanding the veg I have to eat to power it, which to be fair isn't very much.

It just bugs me that a Toyonda Pious is road tax free, yet it only returns 50mpg at best, that's not as good as a Golf TDi :?

Also my motor bike is £60 a year to tax, despite easily giving 60mpg and never less than 48, and personally I think Boggerts little 125 should not just be tax free, but the goverment should give him a medal for braving the traffic on such a small machine,

When will the government realise that small to mid size commuter bikes are the best for beating congestion and reducing emmissions.

I belive the trouble is that these so called enviro head bangers are just as selfish as the rest of us, but worst of all they are hypocrits ( I hope I spelt that right  ) because every couple of years they by a brand new Pious and then say they're doing their bit for the enviroment, all with a smug smile.  If they really wanted to do somthing good for the planet they would be prepared to brave the very worst that the weather and traffic can throw at them and buy a second hand 125 or better still a pushbike and keep it forever.

Anyway rant over! just couldn't help myself

I feel very self-righteous when I use my push bike. It too is zero emissions, which is more than can be said for the rider!
