Whilst some may not be overly concernd with the paasing of a particular person, it is apperent that some, including myself are. Therefore negative comments regarding this death, or those who wish to pass sympathetic comment upon it will simply not be tolerated.

I have edited a number of posts and further disruptive posts will be deleted.

strange old thing life and the world and how it all works, makes you appreciate the things around you that little bit more, when disaster happens.

A sad day for motorsport, but an unimaginably sad day for 3 families. Somehow seems to make it worse when two of the occupants that died were only 5 and 6 years old

As said previously, rather crassly, there are many other deaths that we don't react to in this way (at least 87 in an airliner in Thailand today), but the point is that people in the public eye affect many others in a way that we think we know them. Even if we have never had the pleasure of meeting them.

As with most others here, our thoughts are with the 3 families directly involved. I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through.  :(

Nice to see the F1 guys paying personal tributes today before the race.
Thoughts go to Colin's family & friends.
A true ambassador & sportsman.
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!

My deepest sympathies go out to both Collins wife Alison, his daughter Hollie, and his brother Alister, and also to the families of six-year old Ben Porcelli and Graeme Duncan who also died in the accident.

I never had the opportunity to meet Colin, but have the up-most respect for him.

Colin Mcrae

I have been interested in motorsport and particularly rallying since I was pretty young. Colin Mcrae was probably one of the most inspiring drivers ever. On his day he could've beaten any one of the drivers competing in the WRC and was simply poetry in motion to watch.

Unlike a number of motorsport drivers he had a real character his flair behind the wheel was awesome, I remember seeing him drive at the last year the super special stage was held at silverstone and just being blown away by his skill and the way in which he could move the car unlike any of the other drivers.

His contribution to the WRC and the other forms of motorsport in which he partook will certainly be missed by me.

Colin Mcrae was more than just a driver or a face on the telly, he was a motorsport hero (as well as being one of my heroes).

Iwould like to offer my condolences t the Mcrae family and the families of those involved.

Ive been messing about all day with my 5 year old and my 1 year old , on my day off , and its enough to reduce you to tears thinking about the kids in that copter, when you see your own playing happily.

Mcrae was a genius in his field, a great man and my sincere condolences go  out to all the people affected by the 4 lives lost in the accident/crash/fire.

As for people saying "its only another person dying", you need to respect the fact two kids died aswell at the very beginnig of their lives and if are cold hearted enough to think like that then keep it to yourselves.

I don't have any feelings either way about his death. I certainly never said anything negative about him. My point was why was his death more terrible then anyone elses?

Now that's weird

I had an interview at Prodrive many years ago..... actually, the year before Colin won the championship with them. David Richards is a formidable interviewer    Didn't get the job!
