My sill's are rusty, not badly but showing signs. So would cutting off the outer curved sections and seam welding in 3mm wall rhs of sufficient depth and thickness be ok for an mot or would it need to be like for like?

Ah well you see replacement sill's on a landy are off the shelf bolt on items, where's the design challenge in that? With a maverick if you want it you have to make it!
 
It used to have side steps but they were ally and you would get nowhere jacking on them hence thinking integeral ones assuming it will still get an mot.

As long as it's welded in properly it would be fine. The problems may come however in the event of an insurance claim as the vehicle would have to be declared as modified. They may even request an engineers report. It's a PITA but just the way things go.

Mine are fairly cool about that kind of thing but will ring em to find out for deffo.
