I submitted a picture to Google Earth back in early July this year.

Yesterday finally  it has been uploaded and can be viewed if you search for 54 25' 58.93" N 2 40' 14.08" W

The pic was taken on a green laning trip in the lakes, if you've been upto the lakes you would of driven this lane and seen the landmark on it which is in the middle of nowhere :D

Cool, what's the story with it being there, do you know?  Seems like a very expensive bit of kit to abandon?

Dont know any history of it.  But its been there quite a while by the looks of it.  On the way up to the top there are a few buckets for the digger at the side of the lane.  It must of broken down or something so was just left, would of been a task getting it up there! never mind down again.

If you cant see it, you need to make sure you have Geographic Web switched on (including Panoramio) on the layers options.

that will then show pictures.

Chris.

Its Breast High road, not far from J38 (Tebay) on the M6.  Its on wayfinder (the real one) but has a 1 way TRO on it so can only be driven East to West.
