Annoyng rattle......
« on: September 29, 2007, 21:13:51 »
Guys,

I have a REALLY annoying rattle, it seems to be coming from the headlining area, right behind my damn ear...... i've ruled out pretty much everything in the truck, can anyone tell me what is between the headlining and the roof, on a 200tdi with no sunroofs........

Thanks.
gone from 200tdi.... to 300tdi... still with loads done to it, in fact, even more than the last truck...LOL!!!

Great...... i know what i'm doing next week then..... mind you, my truck is kind of boxed in in the back, and i need to do some welding on the front end of the inner rear arch... which means taking out the inner panel to make sure it doesn't catch fire..... so maybe i'll do two jobs at once......

Theres supposed to be metal there? Bummer :( I just had the wing off to do the radio aerial and really wish I hadnt.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

The roofbars are nice and tight... the odd thing is that the rattle almost sounds like something is swinging from side to side if you see what i mean....... i've never been this foxed before.....normally i just kick it and the noise stops....!!

Had a rattle in mine and it tuned out to be one of the crazy clip type things that the sunvisor/map holder/random stuff collection shelf screws in had pinged off somehow (previous owner) and worked its way around my headlining a bit. Pulled the front edge down a bit whilst dealing with some wiring and it fell out!

mine had an anoying noise was from the rear roof area, iff you banged the roof the whole panel used to vibe. pulled the lining down and there was like suport cross braces bonded to the roof they had come un bonded,
bit of sikaflex in the gaps and some foam and its cured . but me red ones started doing it now. might be worth a look, alan....

I thought the rattles were a Land Rover standard fitment . . . . like the spiders

I can live with the spiders mind . . . . but the rattles just make me paranoid
