Should be plenty of choice round Scarborough & Scalby Mills.

We stayed at this place at Whitby last year. Its about 30ish mins to Langdale - they have static caravans and brick chalets - not that pricey, especially if you share.

Also while you're up there this is a great off road site at Robin Hoods Bay close to Whitby - cost us £10 for the day - no rules and regs or people watching, lovely scenary, challenging terrain and good fun!

Haven't driven there, but, I've raced Mountain Bikes around there in 'times past' for Yorkshire  & North England championship races.
Some damn big hills on a bike

I know the area well & love it, I'd like to retire to Whitby/Sandsend/Robin Hoods Bay (in 25years, of course)

It was very busy in Whitby on Bank Holiday Monday (3rd)

It says £25 on the website. Were you given a discount on that price Linda or has it gone up?

I just rang and asked and he said £10 - there was a few of us so maybe a discounted figure although we didnt have exclusive use, I think £25 may include tuition maybe??  He's a really nice reasonable chap so ring and have a chat. Its well worth a visit even if its more - its very deceiving when you first see it and you think - "thats a pieace of p**s" but actually a lot of the mud is very deep and slippy and a lot of folks got stuck on the lower parts of the course.

Colin, I can recommend this place http://www.eastgatecottages.co.uk/

My wife works there mornings doing the cottage admin, really nice place and good value for money.

About 9 miles to Langdale Quest.

Going up to L.Q. end of Feb   :D

Can't really recommend anywhere to stay, as it's local to me so I just go home.   :D

But, let me know what day you're planning on going, and I'll make sure I'm "on duty" that day.  I hope your motor is stickered up!

What's wrong with us watching?  That's half the fun of working there!   :D

To be fair, if you do the black all day route, we tend to just leave you to it.  People doing that route usually can be trusted and know what they are doing.

I hope there is some snow!

Yorkshire seems to have been lacking in the stuff this winter.

hehe - I didnt mean Langdale - I meant RHB the day before!!  Langdale staff were all superb - as we went as an organised club you guys could all see we knew what we were doing and just left us to play (and laughed at us a bit too..  lol) I loved Langdale and we're hoping to make it up there again in April this year!

Was just a tongue in cheek comment really aimed at some of the off road sites I've been to in the south where they are so strict with rules and regs you cant do anything in case you dent something. yuk!!
