Changing air springs?
« on: October 03, 2007, 19:43:20 »
Anyone swaped one, how does the air pipe come out of the top  :? ?? I'm sure there must be a perfectly simple way of doing it    - is it then just a matter of taking the two clips off and pulling bag out...

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

There is a little collet you need to press in as you pull the pipe out, it should be easier if you release the clips first, then let the spring drop to get to the pipe connection. The spring should the turn 90 degrees, to free it from the axle. Just not sure how you de-pressurize a DII first...having only changed RRC air springs in the past   :)

I put a jack under the towbar(if fitted) and support the weight of the car.Disconnect the air supply(ignition off or the compressor will run) unclip the 2 spring clips and remove the bag as Richard rrc says.
