Breather kit - Axel threads, timing cover thread?
« on: October 09, 2007, 18:05:47 »
Hello one and all, I work in the pnuematics and hydraulics business, and I'm looking at putting a full breather kit together but I need the tread types for the connectors, when I've managed to stick it all together I'll put a list of what it's cost me, all these parts are readily available from any engineering spares company so all I need is the measurements for the tread sizes.

Anyone?

cant really help you with the thread size here mate but this is what i did.i removed what was already there on the axels(not sure if it was standard kit)and replaced the 90 degree elbow with one of those elbows with the push in air pipe fitting if i remember i think they were imperial and v small possibly 5/16th but again im unsure then just extended the pipe up into my snorkle as for the crank case breather i have no idea as my mate did that when i was on hoiliday dont take this as gospel as im sure one of the more experianced boys will point you in the right direction.

Thanks mate, that's the plan, replace what's there on both front and rear axles, then replace/extend the gearbox and the transfer box, and insert a nipple into the timing cover, all up to a 5into1 manifold and up the snorkel.

Looks like I will have to get under the truck and remove the axle elbows for identification
