how heartbreaking. ....... Xmas sign at local garden centre....... "Xmas is here" come on ................ lets get halloween and November 5th out of way.

Lets get some mud and some fog and some cold weather rather than sending the kids back to school and winding them up.

My 5yr old is already planning her birthday in Jan. why are we so keen to make life to go so fast and not enjoy each day ?(even though some days you want over as soon as they start).

I don't like Christmas. My parents always ask me what I want but....

It has to be practical,

Nothing to do with Land Rovers

Don't leave me much. Plus they allways work all over Christmas.

O well time to buy another landy to restore.

I love christmas.  But I think there ought to be a law that no-one is allowed to advertise or put up Xmas decorations /lights etc etc until the first of December.

Poor kids will start getting excited, and asking how many sleeps it is until Christmas.

I also wonder how many people will be in Church on Christmas eve or Christmas day, for so many it's just an excuse to have another party, eat and drink too much, when they forget they're celebrating Christ's birthday.  Don't get me started.......

Some of us just celebrate it as the Pagan festival that it originally was. Time to salt the beef for winter and eat what's left.....

The gifts? Well it was vegetables, beef or mead :)

some one earlier said about a law. Too right. I think no advertising should start until December the 1st or absolute earlyest in shops November 20th.

It is just beginning to be a huge sales promo just like easter and mothers day is now. Same thing goes with school uniform shops too. The "back to school" signs go up before the holidays begin. whats that all about too?

Grr bar humbug until December, then the count begins to feed my self silly and go on holiday to restore a canal for a week.  :D

Its not officialy Christmas untill Coca Cola put their advert on...being that they invented modern Christmas as we know it.

They are usually quite good as well, it dosnt get shown till quite late, the end of november at the earliest.

We've decided that we're spending the Christmas money on getting the garden finished within the next four weeks; 12' x 10' decking, angle grinding, concreting, 200 slabs (and paying someone to lay them properly), turning 34 Sleepers into raised flower beds.  Just a little task...

Er indoors is sick of the building site that used to be our back garden before we had the extension...in October 2006...ahem!

We've had so many other things to pay for and do, I should have sold the Disco last November, because I've spent at least £3000 on it over the last year in repairs, and it's worth...£3,000.  Now we can't get rid of it until we wear it out!
