2lt Vit engine wont fit in older (Non GV) Vits so good luck :)

I have heard tale of the 1.6 and some slightly more insane conversions too, VW/Pug TDIs seem common.

Theres an SJ kicking about somewhere with a Mazda Renesis!!!
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

the 1600 8v vitara engine is straightforward swap as all the wiring hoses etc are all roughly the same even the manifolds are interchangable, only thing to be carefull of is the sump clearance above your diff as some vitaras have different shaped sumps.
