Hi all
A few of our members signature's have got a bit large recently
Some are very very long and some are very very wide
Is there any chance of shrinking them down a tad please?
Some threads are over long due to signature length and others are a nightmare to read because the thread becomes far to wide for my little laptop screen
Thanks in advance

Yours does seem to be one that is causing a few problems. Could you try reducing the size of the pictures a bit. Cheers.

Ah, you won't notice a change as it will change all instances of the sig.

It's also worthwhile thinking whether you need to use your sig on every post you make. There is a check box on the "Post a reply" page that you can use to turn it on or off.

You should try looking at the forum on a PDA, now that is fun.

I can now - that's a bit more viewer-friendly :)

The gallery's probably the best place to put multiple truck pics;  anybody who is interested can then browse as many as they want.

Don't answer that!

If you're talking about photos, how about using the gallery instead?  (When it's back online :) )

WRT logos etc, you use the same method as with posting:  put the web address of the image in your sig using the tag.

I'd suggest that if the signature is the same length as the Avatar it would not be a problem, much longer and it might.

I for one rarely read them, the longer they are the less I bother.

Some are funny, I likes to larf

Dave, personally I don't think yours is excessive.

Links to companies you support don't generally cause any offense;  having said that, I'm sure if people put their mind to it they could overdo it!

Is mine ok :?:

What can be done about some of the members who still have long signatures but haven't seen this thread?

Can it be inforced in any way :?:

Well, it could be enforced but in order to do so we would have to come up with more rules, and does anyone really want that   It's probably better to rely on the good sense of members to keep their signatures reasonable.

There are lots of clever bits built into the forum that could help.

One thing that can get a bit overpowering is a long list of modifications in a sig, it might be better to use the vehicle mods page in your forum profile (the one accessed by the button at the bottom of your posts) to list this information. A good example of the use of this is RRB's at http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/Range%20Rover%20Blues/vehicle

For a link to your website, there is a box on the other profile (accessed from the link at the top of each page) which will add a button marked www at the bottom of your posts.

Of couse, if there is a genuine problem with another members signature, that makes it difficult for you to read the forum (and this may well not be obvious to them) you could always let the Mods know. Probably best to use the "report post" button. Or maybe just drop the member a PM to explain the problem.
