with my other fault , it might be related , ive now got whilst driving a missing fault when labouring or just normal driving and on tick over it misses a beat can this be somthing on its way out as i dont want to start buying bits if i dont need them , would the crank sensor do this if it was on its way out?? :cry:

It sounds like what happened to mine and that was the crank angle sensor ... try squirting it with a hose if you have one to hand when it does it.

no its a straight swap, hoever more likely a lead/plug/coil try lifting the bonnet with engine running when its dark and look for sparks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fitted new plug leads today and hey presto its not missing , lets hope that was my cutting out whilst off rading aswell
