with my other fault , it might be related , ive now got whilst driving a missing fault when labouring or just normal driving and on tick over it misses a beat can this be somthing on its way out as i dont want to start buying bits if i dont need them , would the crank sensor do this if it was on its way out??

It sounds like what happened to mine and that was the crank angle sensor ... try squirting it with a hose if you have one to hand when it does it.

no its a straight swap, hoever more likely a lead/plug/coil try lifting the bonnet with engine running when its dark and look for sparks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fitted new plug leads today and hey presto its not missing , lets hope that was my cutting out whilst off rading aswell
