Saw an ad for a Land Rover in our local paper for £500 so just had to go have a peek.
It's a company that make golf course equipment and the beastie has been used around their extensinve grounds as a run around.
It's a series 3 SWB full rag top. With what I suspect is the 2.25 petrol engine. Drives well in both 2 & 4H/4L and has a good set of gerneral grabber on (possibly wider that OEM).
I had a good root around underneath with a screwdriver and the chassis is solid, there is some surface corrosion but I could find no holes or dodgy bits... I had a particularly close look at the rear x member and it too is solid both front and back. The footwells could do with some work as there is at least one hole, but I have seen a lot worse!
The seats are a little tatty but that's easily fixed.
They are willing to let it go for £500 (was supposed to be advertised at £1000! ) but no lower. If it doesn't sell, they will just keep on using it.
It'd make a fantastic little project or first landie for a youngster.
If you are intersted, let me know and I'll give you the details.
Moderators: Thought this'd be a better place to catch the eye than the for sale.. as.. I'm not actually selling it!
