It was a while ago now but Julie was on a course in lundon and (for reasons we shan't debate here) she got food poisening on the second day.  Bad food poisening.

So I got a call form the hospital to go fetch her

"you do realise, I'm in Sheffield" I told the doctor, oh and it was snowing.

Anyhoo, choice of Micra or Blue at the time, set of in blue, no idea of how or where to pay, didn't care quite frankly, so I set off.

Well it wasn't too apparent that I'd entered the charging zone but I guessed they get me on camera and send me a bill.

They didn't.  Apparently (so I was told) if you only go the once, they can't be bothered billing you.

There are no toll booths, no spikes in the road, nothing to stop you driving in if you so wish.

Hi,

my friends from america (the ones we are going to visit for christmas - just thought i would mention that)  got stung from their hire car company for the fine imposed cos they drove thru london and did not pay the charge because they did not know about it and the signs are so inobtrusive people don't notice them.

be careful about not paying - they may get you
