Be prepared for a major job! I was told to go and find a good used axle when it started leaking. It was going to be cheaper than the labour to do the job!It's not the same as the Rover axle. Something to do with a collapsable spacer. I think you have to pull the diff apart from the back to get to the seal. This requires a hydraulic spreader IIRC!

I know some just pop the seal out and say had no trouble... but what about a few tens of thousand miles down the road, will they say the same then? just my luck for it to knacker up quickly anyway. I was hoping to pick up a decent cheap diff if the opportunity arose and swap it over rather than whole axle :? oh I was told to check the breather for blockage before doing anything too, as that can cause the leak and clearing a block can cure.

This requires a hydraulic spreader IIRC! :? you on drugs?it comes apart just like a rover axle & takes about the same amount o time to changehad to do them regularly on the V8 90 as it had a sals & was run in the muck everyweekend,
