How many blokes to take down a wire?
« on: November 10, 2007, 17:37:57 »
Electricity board into work today to remove 1 pole and overhead wires that go across our yard, so how many vans do we think are needed for that then :?

The answer ......7 and one groundwork crew in another van with a mini digger on a trailer   maybe its because its saturday and they are on overtime?

the job appeaered to consist of

1 all park up and look at the pole :?
2 drink tea
3 open vans and look at the wires :?
4 drink tea
5 a rapid flurry of work
6 drink tea
7 all pack up and go leaving the groundwork crew to clear up

Didn't you realise that any job needs three times as many people if it can be done on 'overtime' rates

Us council types are naturally herding creatures that's all.

We only had 3 last week when we had to clear some trees next to the line.
They rest were probably worried they would have to do some work and went to watch someone else

maybe they get scared going out on their own. Or they do their own version of women going to the loo together (steady .... am female)

Maybe it takes more than one to read the instructions. One to do the phonics nad one to keep a finger under the words so they don't get confused.
