'Duel'; Spielbergs first film?? Great suspense film & well shot


My list;
'The Lord Of The Rings'. Everything I ever expected since I first read the books almost 25years ago. SWMBO thinks Vigor Mortensson is 'hot' :lol:
Only fault is the 'chuckle brothers' (Pippin & Merry)

'Smokey & The Bandit' (1). Burt Reynolds perfect film, self deprecating, beautiful truck (Kenworth W900) & trailer. Nice (hotted up) '78 Trans-Am. Great supporting cast; Jerry Reed & Sally Field.
A nice, for me, soundtrack (especially opening sequence)

'American Graffiti'. See above

'Batman'. Michael Keaton steals the show as a mixed up semi-psychotic Bat. And as for Nicholson as the Joker :lol:

'X-Men' (1 &2) Superb casting. Patrick Stewart as Xavier, Ian McKellan as Eric Lenscher. And the film stealer - Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
In '2', the opening 'Nightcrawler' scene is awesome.

'Waynes World'. The first(?) & best 'slacker' movie. The only good use of a Queen song :lol:  :lol: .

Blues Brothers is one of our  youngest's fav films, Spagetti Westerns, Any Dirty Harry movie

And of course ....... Casablanca

The Region 1 set is native to North America... find it to import at www.playusa.com

Your player has to be capable of handling Region 1 discs (via a mod or hack) but many of the cheaper ones play 'em straight out the box. And your TV has to NSTC compatible (the US TV system, as opposed to PAL) - again, most are.

Cool Runnings - A bit schmoltzy, but John Candy is great, and it's funny

Almost put Band of Brothers down on the list too, but strictly speaking not a movie! :P  Fantastic though - have been rewatching the series over the last few evenings. Best on Region 1 DVD - DTS soundtrack and USA mix includes quite a few scenes that were deleted from the version shown on UK TV and on the Region 2 set. Makes a lot more sense when these are left in, as intended...
