HELP ME AGAIN!V8 GONE WRONG!!!!

ok the problem was a dodgy rotor arm it was tat from halfords,had to swap for another halfords tat job till i can get one from LR on wednesday.i now have another problem.i start her up,all fine starts nicely,runs smooth for 2mins then dies.i then i have to leave her for around 30mins then she starts for 2 mins and dies,and so on and so fourth.could it be a dirty fuel filter?if so how do you get the big plastic ring thingy off the pump to get it all apart??someone please help ive tried to work it out but im stumped!i need to get her running!

when it packs up , are you loosing spark or fuel ?. check that first. alan....

oddly i seem to have a spark and when i take of fuel leads in the engine bay i get juice comeing out.i dont wana leave off the fuel pipe too long as not keen on havin petrol everywhere,so duno if there is just a small amount trere or a proper suply.anyone think it could be the filter in the fuel tank?if so how do i get the plastic ring off to get it out as i dont have the proper tool

Sounded like mine when the coil packed up.  It did it after a missfire (drowning) so it could be a similar thing caused by that rotor arm.

shes running now seems to be ok,changed the rotor arm and stuck on an old coil i had.duno if the rotor arm going took the last bit of life outa the coil?just hopes she stays running this time!

lucas rotor arm and dizzy cap.
more expensive but do it.

cheap ones only cause problems...

i have the lucas dizzy cap and i have a rotor arm arriving from landrover dealer on friday!cost about as much as a new disco!lol

Your rubbish rotor arm allowed the plugs to foul up by missing some of the sparks .. hence run for a while then stall. So yup you have done the right thing  :)

Trouble is there's no such thing as a Lucas Dizzy cap or arm anymore.  If you get one with Lucas stamped on it, keep it safe, they are very rare now.  Lucas as a company no longer exists and the expensive dizzy cap I bought from the stealers look exaclty the same as the dodgy one I bought from Halfrauds.
