Rear Seat belt mountings
« on: January 16, 2005, 20:11:40 »
hello

whats the feasibility of remounting the seatbelt mount where the catch is on?

currently no babyseat will fit safely in the rear of mine due to the length of the webbing

sorry i mean front facing seats.. if mothercare say no, i will believe them

halfo... on the other hand said any seat will fit

anyway

if the mounting can be moved back a couple of inches this means the seat can be mounted in the rear

HOWEVER

safety aspects come into play.. so i want feedback

ta

d

ps its a "wouldnt mind having" but at NO cost to my son's safety

The rear belt mounts are on brackets which bolt through the floor panel onto a chassis attachment.

You could relocate them by moving / fabricating the chassis attachments, but you want to be sure about the quality of the welding.

What effect this would have on your insurance I don't know.

In the back of the Bobtail I don't have any seatbelts,
I've fitted Liams seat in with a couple of small ratchet
straps and it's a securer fit than in the back of the
Discovery with the proper seatbelt being used.
