Idiots on Dartmoor
« on: November 18, 2007, 20:49:16 »
I was on Dartmoor today & about 14:30 I was at Cadover Bridge car park when 3 idiots on enduro bikes pulled in the car park, turned round & shot off up the moor churning the moor up.
Below is a picture of them...only from phone so quality not good...had the missus not been with me I'd have them in my boot & down the local police station.
The bike nearest is a Honda XR or XL 250 Registration B810 BFJ.  They saw me taking photo & shot off out of view & churned more moor up.
My brother is a copper in North Devon & I will be passing details to him & Dartmoor NPA Rangers.

If you are reading this expect a visit soon
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!

I have raced Motox for years, and have battled for nearly every one of them to find land to ride on for practice, and have found it is usually IDIOTS like these that ruin it for everyone when a possible piece of land is found. And they probably don't even ride in any comps.  I hope the police find them and fine them heavily. Like that will happen! or they might put a gatso camera there that flashes at the sound of a 4stroke! LOL :D Or a dough nut van, might get a copper to turn up then.
Sorry Just got a few issues with the police at the moment, with members of the public doing their bit (me) and and it seems the polices bit also. And getting every excuse they can come up with to avoid dealing with the issues.  Rant over!!
Hope the park ranger manages to do something about it people ned to know that the moor is not a free for all with a passion for MUD. All the power to you!!

Hope something useful happens from this.

CandD club had an issue where someone was seen on Crownhill Down, Lee Moor and we got the blame.  It was only the local landowner who backed us up.

Sometime catch people in Brookwells or other 4x4 shops talking about driving up on the moor, tell em not to and you can see they think I'm a meddling greenie.

Time and place lads, time and place.

Update....

Just had this email from the NPA

Dear Jamie

Thank you for all of the information that you sent us regarding the trials bikes at Cadover Bridge.  I have passed this on to the Police as these bikers were breaking the road traffic act amoungst other offences.  I have also taken a copy of the details and forwarded them to the other local Rangers.  Cadover Bridge has always been a problem area regarding off-road vehicles despite regular patrols, signage and banking.  It is not often that we have this much evidence so it will be great if the Police are able to follow this up - I expect that they will need to contact you regarding this.

Kind regards

Ella Briens

Here's hoping
