Rear Brake Light
« on: January 17, 2005, 18:23:42 »
Hi

The rear brake light on my disco has been a pain for over a year now.

I will try and explan what happens........ :?

Whan you have the light off and brake it works fine.
When you have the lights on and no brake is fine.

When you have the light on and brake....  It could be one of these

a, it dosn't do anything no light on that cluster or b, the brake light will dim.

I have had this sorted 4 times at different garages but the problem comes back.

I have a second earth now filled on the rear right light cluster which is the problem cluster.

I thought it was about time I sort out help from the experts

Stick an earth on both clusters.
Or look for a corroded connection in the cluster.

Almost certainly an earth related fault. Finding it's the fun bit. Look for green connections. Green as in oxidising copper, not wire colours.
Cheers, Karl..
