hardtop, what's it worth?
« on: November 24, 2007, 18:12:07 »
Hi boys and girls,
My bro in law has a hard top from his 02 defender (with sunroof & alpine windows) which has been in storage for the last 5 years. He had it on the vehicle for about 6 months before he splashed out on a fold down soft top (can't remember where from, but it was mental money!!). Anyway, he hasn't used the hardtop since so he has decided to sell it, along with the back door with spare wheel mount, full head lining & all the electrics for the rear heater / windscreen wiper.
I've had a look & it's in pretty much "as new"condition (in Epsom green) apart from a few twig scratches on the sides from when he did a bit of off-roading before he had the soft top fitted, which would probably cut out.
Now here's the question, what's it worth?
I told him that there's alot of people on here who "know their stuff" so it would be very much appreciated if you could give us a ball park figure.

cheers guys & gals

Jeff

Stick it on eBay starting at 99p.  You'd get the best price that way.

I have a hardtop with windows etc and was told by my local LR fettler that 350-400 was about the going rate.

Ebay is fine as long as you are within a reasonable distance of a lot of LR owners.

I sold my Truck Cab by sticking it in the freeads.
Cheers
