 i keep getting check engine light coming on
does this mean i need a new diesel filter or could it be something else

check engine light on dash panel
i think it just means the diesel filter needs changing
but not sure

This is the fuel filter light

But if you mean the engine light

this is what the manual says

Quote
Check engine - AMBER*
The light illuminates as a bulb and system check when the starter switch is turned on, and extinguishes as soon as the engine is started.
Illumination at any other time indicates an engine fault - if the light illuminates while driving, avoid high speeds and seek qualified illuminates when the handbrake is applied with the starter switch in position ‘II’.
The light should extinguish when the handbrake is fully released or shortly after the electrical circuits are switched on. If the light illuminates
whilst driving, a fault with the braking system is indicated. Stop the vehicle as soon as safety

thanks but that is not the light that comes on
it is a light that says check engine amber in colour
it is located to the left of the rev counter

ok thought it was the case, the info for that light is the one in the white box

Had that light come on when swombo filled up with corn oil  :shock:  changed fuel filter (after draining corn oil out) & all was ok,


Hope that helps, btw it's a 300tdi auto as well
