The box section where the lower tailgate bolts/attaches to?
As there is quite a big rust hole in it and think iot needs welding up.

Rear body crossmember. Yours is rusty :shock: join the club :roll:
The critical bit is above each body to chassis mount as this is the bit that's most stressed.

its just to the side of the body mount.
can this just be plated back over or will it have to be replaced??
would it be an MOT fail if i plate it over and seal it all.

Repairing whats there should be fine, though if its too far gone then its easier just to replace the whole section and mounts in one go as a new repair section is about £50.

i cant seem to find a repair panel anywhere.
Found the chassis x-member but not the body?
Has anyone got a link.?
Might aswell do it properly now than replacing it again in 12 months

How rusty is yours, on mine had been neglected for a while and the only thing linking the chassis to the rear body was gravity :shock: so I hadn't got the option of a simple patch.
I used a repair section like this one, though most large landy spares places stock or can obtain them.

I think mine is due for replacement also. What procedure did you use/bits to remove/gain access?
