Call me cynical, but after reading the apology in LROI about 'those ads' in the back of the magazine, i can't believe that they were unaware, i expect if they had no complaints then they would be in this month as well.

I'll just hazard a guess that they approve the actual editorial/journalistic content, not the adverts??

Remember the kafuffle when 'LRW' started running Nissan adverts??, as Link House had taken the 'Emporers Yen' (instead of Solihulls 'Kings Shilling')
Admittedly the Nissan adverts stayed for a while though

Aye, I remember getting a Nissan Navara poster in one of the LR mags a year or two back (whenever the new shape Navara came out), and then the following month the letters page was mainly on that topic. The upshot of that was that it was down to the publishers rather than the editorial staff.
