Clutch Pedal gone........south
« on: December 20, 2007, 02:06:52 »
Right guys thought I would put it to you guys. I have my own ideas but a bit strange this.....

Driving along and clutch pedal seemed a bit lower than normal...OK
Just past the spring return.....!

Whilst driving the pedal with no help from me at all just dropped to the floor on its own.... AAARRGGHH

No fluid to be seen anywhere but it may have gone into belhousing.

I was thinking it may be the dreaded clutch fork hole syndrome....

Anybody got any easy ideas.... will be having a look tomoz but pub was nearest stop so it stayed at pub for night.....lol

What are the common probs with this........ Nothing checked as yet....

If the fork had punched through the pedal would be at the top and rock solid. Check the fluid level and look for leaks around the master where it joins the servo and if fluid is running down the clutch pedal. Look around the wading plug hole (remove it if fitted), and see if fluid is coming out of it. If there are no obvious leaks, refill the system if it was empty and clamp the flexi pipe - if the pedal is then hard - the slave has failed and if it remains soft then the master seals have gone.

Right been out and got the frost from the floor cleared been on me back taken slave off to find the pin was in a long way but still attached to the fork and the fork is still on a pivot all feels nice but its still only sticking out a small amount ( NOT GOOD )

Right after a few pushes back and forth the pin has some how rengaed to the correct position its stuck out about 3 inch so when ya put the slave back on the pedal is correct and working again.

Now then has anybody come across this befoe if so what was it.....

Maybe the release bearing has let go of the clutch or somat.....

I hope its not gearbox out but its looking that way.....

Well its all turned out to be a intermittent fault on the Master cylinder...

The clutch fork was fine also the thrust bearing.... So box out for no reason....
