Anyone in the south Bristol area waiting for a parcel? This poor guy drove into a ford  [-X and the engine ingested some water. By the time he'd called for recovery the water had risen a bit (as you can see) and when the recovery crew arrived the van was completely under water

The driver uses this road almost every day and thought the ford didn't look much deeper than it usually did ... how wrong can you be?

"She's obviously in a very distressed state"

I could comment on the mental state of anyone who tried that in a normal car... Let me guess, stopped, bow wave disappeared, engine drowned!

No...you can see her turn the engine off.
I would have left her there & made her walk back...
Did everyone see that?  Because I will NOT be doing it again!

I can't believe the news team - just standing there saying "Has anyone called for help" and similar rather than actually doing something!

The reason she was in a distressed state is that she only had 2 mars bars in the car to see her through the 10 minuets she had to wait.

No way was she going to get out and wade, greenpeace may have thought she was a whale that got stuck and towed her out to sea!

i no its an offence to drive through puddles and splash peopleut after seeing wot she did i would have had no choice but to drive past her at some speed silly cow the water was only a couple of inches deep and there was no need to turn the engine off im guessing she was having a blonde day

So the engine was running, why on earth didn't she just back it up?

There should be a fine for this sort of stupidity.  I'm sure the poilice and fire brigade have got better things to do than rescue people from themselves

You'd be perfectly justified - she went through slowly and got stuck, so you made sure you had a good bow wave to avoid it!

It looks like she puts it into reverse and stall it - then starts patting the roof ??? I thought you only did that during capsize practice in a canoe. Plus the water was only just up to the sill of the car - what is the ground clearance of a Fiesta = depth of the water - since when did dangerous undercurrents inhabit water 12" deep?

I'm sorry, but I think I'd have left here there while I went to help people who actually were in immidiate danger! Its idiots like that that  tie up the emergency services when they could be doing some real good. The film crew are equially as bad! Lets flim her, she might get into some real difficulty and then we'll have a proper news story.

If you look at the rear vavlance you can see the exhaust is still blowing untill she reaches down and turns it off, so what on earth she's playing at escapes me
