So why not an XR3 then? only natural for a Ford man to still be buying them years later.

Put it this way, they are easier to pick up then a MkIII 'Tina. Incidentaly I think the original Hunt-mobile set the benchmark for continuety errors, being a 1974 GXL with a 1973 GT grille and badges. I'm told the front bumper was on upside down in some scenes too.
