Possibly with room to spare. IIRC the Disco tank comes very slightly lower in the chassis.

Anyway, the Southdwon is the same guard for either, as I think yours is Guardian?

When I brought my southdown for the rangie one it said it was also for a disco2 they did another one for a D1

definately wrong mate, unless ive read your bit wrong of course. the range rover classic chassis is a disco 1 chassis, and most of the body critical dimensions, but the disco 2 is a totally different bit of kit, it looks the same from the outside but it aint!

rrc and disco 1 are the same chassis so it should def fit.

i fitted a southdown fuel tank gaurd to my disco with the tow ball mount, very usefull but it is some weight to carry around on the back but hey it saves the tank until i move it out of the way. to mount one to a disco you have to drill throught the side of the gaurd where you would fit jate rings to the chassis. it is fairly easy but it is thick steel so a sharp drill is very usefull. the mounting points on the opposite end to the bumper mounts are the ones you use for the range rover. i ordered my tank gaurd from First Four and i think the gaurdian one is very similar to the southdown one i have fitted.

good luck, make sure befor you fit it you put loads of waxoil or underseal on the bits of metal that will be behind the guard, they are very good at collecting mud when offroad.

its very similar but mine has an extra fold for more strength and the flipin holes for fixing already there, you shouldnt have to drill it surely?

that is a good improvement on the south down if the holes are already there. aparently southdowns reasion was they sold more for the range rover, which dont need them holes. it wasnt too hard a job to do like but even better if you dont have to do it.
