MOT time
« on: January 23, 2008, 19:18:25 »
took the wifes rangie for an mot today
knew the front innerwing was suffering from tin worm
but thought i would put it in for a test anyway
and if failed on five bits that need welding and two brake pipes
we decided that we would get the garage to do the work as i dont have
access to the rear garden anymore and the fact the weather is crap at
the moment and the lock up dont have any power for tools only light and
a trip that cuts the power when you over load the circuit
we were quoted £350 to do the repairs so we will have a K reg rangie
with a years mot for less than £1000 including all the service parts
next thing is to fit the gas kit from my off-roader into the new one
and then scrap or sell or break-up the off-roader

pic of the now donor rangie

could have got stainless ones from llama4x4 for £13 each  made to order, extended or not....
1980 SIII Lightweight 2.25 Petrol - completely standard.
1991 Range Rover Vogue SE 3.9 V8 - now on LPG (sorted!), 2" lift, mud tyres, and more to come...

got the rangie back all done and paid for got the mot fee knocked off so still only cost £350 including the hoses
so it pays to use the same garage all the time for mot's
so the wife is happy to get her rangie on the road
