Bobtails + Fuel tanks

Just a quick question for those of you that have removed bits of your rear end....

What have you done about your fuel tank?

I'm guessing that once the chassis is shortened there isn't enough space for the tank to go back into where it came from?

SEEN A FEW PEOPLE MAKE THEM OUT OF PROPANE BOTTLES, AND AS LONG AS DONE PROPERLY I THInk is a good idea as as long as you mount it solid you wont ever bust it.

ive got an suzi sj in mine fuel gauge is almost correct thats bonus it mounted on a cradle behind rear seats but i keep thinking about a bulkhead for fire protection will do shortley

The first one I built i managed to pick up a sloping custom tank at the old sod, fitted behind the rear seat after removing 20" from the rear



a mini tank fits in the rear over the arch quite nicely, one each side if you can get an off side mini tank (rare) and you can route through the c panel....



a mini van / traveller tank is ideal as its long and low...
