Transfer Box from RRC to P38
« on: January 26, 2008, 14:12:15 »
Hello M-C'ers,

I've got a 1993 3.9 V8 Auto RRC which I'm thinking of breaking,
my mate has asked if the transfer box off it will fit his P38 4.0
Can anybody shed any light on this?

Cheers.

Think it's a Borg warner ostensibly the same just a six bolt undo job and replace, but like everything LR heavy !

Beat me to it, the BMW inspired P38 is built in the mirror image of the RRC, everything over the other side.  Proabably to suite the yanks.

 :roll:Shows how much I don't know

All I really know about P38s is too much electrickery and complex gearboxes now !

But in my defence, Ashcrofts refer to P38 as having a Borg Warner transfer ????

It's the same idea, but from what I've seen it's a different looking animal to the RRC box.
