My 200 CSW did regular 28 however my 300 CSW only gets 25.  40 out of a 110 is not achievable unless it on a rope  My TD4 freeby only gets 37.

I used to get an average of 28 - 30MPG from mine (it was a 'L' plated 300Tdi 110 Hard-Top), but I'm a fairly gentle, steady driver. I could indeed be Wakefields answer to Captain Slow

I have seen more from it though.
1. We once went to Pembrokeshire on holiday in it, which was reached over the mountain roads/passes (like the A483, & places like Sweet Lamb & Bala)
On that occasion, upon fill-up at the destination, it returned 35MPG, if memory serves correctly.

2. A trip to Birmingham (motorways all the way admittedly) saw about 38MPG, but that was a 50-55MPH cruise - much the same speeds as I do in the Td5 now

My 110 gets about 32mpg driving steadily, can get it up to 35mpg no bother but I have an Isuzu in it !!!!!

My mate has a 90 300 tdi and really drives steadily and gets 34mpg so no way can a 110 be doing 40 except down Shap on the M6 freewheeling !

RRR has managed 30MPH out of her 300TDi auto towing the 'van to Wales, but 40MPG  only on a recovery truck.
