Clonk, Knock?
« on: January 30, 2005, 21:05:02 »
Started the motor up today, put it in reverse then slower eased off. Heard a clonk or knock from underneath somewhere

I've heard this before, many first thing in the morning when it's been stood overnight, never does it when driving, well can't hear it anyway.

Ah, another candidate yes.  They can stick on I've been told, especially in this weather.

If it was wet and a frost could freeze it up, another option,
more than likely could do with a look to be sure, or keep a brick in the motor as an emergency parking brake

Sounds like me the other day when I reversed SWMBO's Ford Focus into the neighbour's daughter's car.  only the clonk / knock was her door being given a lovely big dent!!

Or was it a cat sleeping in your transmission tunnel?
