Technical info needed

Does anyone know where I could get soem information on the working principles etc,  for 7.5 tonne vehicles either Man or Merc. Also any info on speed limiters.

My partners farther a mechanic and he want to restore a Merc 7.5 tom truck, but not sure on the workings

Im a wagon driver what do you want to know?,mans are rubbish in 7.5t form its only when you get to tractor units they are any cop,the mercs are solid enough but why would he want to restore a seven and a half tonner?,that could be a right money pit
