3.9 ignition question?
« on: February 08, 2008, 15:55:07 »
Is there any reason why there would be a condenser connected to the ignition coil on my disco, It puzzles me as it's supposedly electronic ignition, also traditionally the condenser would be connected to the points not the coil, wierd!

It will be and it might not be OE spec either.  The electronic ignition should prevent it being necessary, but if someone has fitted an aftermarket stereo.......

Ah I see, it makes sence now. It never crossed my mind it could be used as a radio filter, after all a condenser is a capacitor and that's all a suppressor is.

Thanks very much guys
