H14 SUPERWINCH - RED COVER ON PTO
« on: February 24, 2008, 13:52:15 »
I was using the winch on drive the over day after cleaning the crud from the drum and rope. Just noticed today the remains on the floor of the red plastic cover from the PTO part of the winch. That bit is well tuced up and away so unlikely to have got damaged offroad without any other sign. Didn't notice anything wrong with winch when i was using it. Anyone got any idea why it could have committed suicide? I don't think I will be able to replace it with a new one so will have to make something (me looking at misses tuperware).

Made a new one out of fibre glass - does the job, not as pretty but a bit tougher then original.

I think some of Wiltshire's finest crud most have caked under the lip of the cover and hardened, so when I came to use the winch it split the plastic soon as the PTO spun.
