screwdrivers and rust!!!

why is it when i have a screwdriver in my hand i just feel the overwhelming urge to poke at bits of rust and paint bubbles? ](*,)
Now i have holes appeared in my inner wing right along the line where the plastic liner is screwed on from under the arch :roll:
is this an MOT fail? looks like i will have to patch these up before march when its due

It's part of a man's genetic make-up, don't fight it.

If the rot is within however many inches (used to be 6 but it's more now) of the body mounting then it's structural and needs to be fixed.

i went mad on a range rover i had with a screwdriver and ended up with no floor in after i finished :shock:
where the holes are are as you look in the engine bay from standing by the front wheel at the side and look straight down where the wiring is tucked along the corner of the inner wing if you look up from under neath its right on the edge of where the plasticc liner is mounted, looks easy enough to plate when i get the time

Sort of where the wing fastens on then? a matter of opinion if that's structural but it has a box running alonside on a Rangie.  They all rust there if that's any consolation.

Its a problem from the range-rover wing mounting section thats still in there, on the 200s its even got the holes for the rangie wing to bolt into! Cure it before it leads the water into the bulkhead/footwell area and rots that out as well!!!!!

well i poked around abit more today and now its a bigger hole ](*,) but what i thought was loads of holes is now only one and having moved the looms and other stuff out the way i got all keen and cleaned it up ready to weld a patch on :D
