Evening

Poking around my 90 today and found that the springs have labels on to identify them

Its got OME 751 on the front and 762 on the back. The back site higher than the front, but i assume that as it had a roof tent at one point they are heavy duty ones.

They look really manky as the paint has started to fall of them.

Its got OME shocks aswell but they have been covered in waxoil so also look horrid.

Anyone know of a good way to remove waxoil, and whats good to paint springs with.

Waxoil can be cleaned off with tar and glue remover (like white spirit, but weaker) which is avalible from Halfords
 :D

White spirits much cheaper though and won't damage the paint :lol:

Paint will always come off springs because they work by twisting.  I'd waxoil them or just leave them uncovered.

751 and 762 are Heavy Duty shocks for a 90 and should give a 2" lift if you are not weighing them down.

751
 Heavy Duty Front 110-250 lbs
 230 lbs/in 15.25"/15.0" 1.25"

762
 Heavy Duty Rear 220 - GVM
 300-340 lbs/in 16.5"/16.125" 2.0"
