My work phone is a 6310, for the last 12 months has worked fine with out a problem, lightweight phone and does what it says on the tin.

Last week it started to turn itself off, and the only way to get it back working was to remove the battery and re-turn on, my works got me a replacement, a re-conditioned one. This worked fine for 2 days then started doing the same, now it won't turn on at all.... the joys of mobile phones, at least the boss can't nag me now  :D  but no else can get hold of me until they sort out a new phone.

They have  now change from the 6310 to 6600.  :D  Are these better or worse?

Hateful things... I ditched all the Nokias at my old place because they were so unreliable.  Battery connections failing, cutting off in mid-call, etc.

Changed to Motorolas... much better...   but it seems that they don't make sensible phones any more either.

Anyone remember when a phone was just for making and receiving phone calls ?

Tell me about it!

I keep getting calls offering me free upgrades but I need a tri-band phone without a camera. Do they make one now? Seemingly not.

'Ooo, Sir, we've this top of the range, LG / Sony / Nokia / Klakibonko / whatever - really small - very trendy! Yours for a free upgrade'
'Has it got a camera?'
'Oh, yes. A cracker it is too, proper VGA job'
'Sorry, they'll sack me'
'?'

The 6310 stays in the pocket!

Cheers

I agree, its hard to get a phone that is just a phone these days, I keep getting offered upgrades, all I want is tri-band and good battery life, with reliability, don't need a camera or all the other stuff! Must be getting old(er)!!

my contract with O2 was about to run out at the end of the month so they kindly offered me a free motorola V3 razor thingy to replace me t610. looks like i'll be staying with them for another year then  :)

As for all the gadgets on phones they can at times be usefull, the cameras are dead handy if you have a car accident, saves trying to draw a scetch of the damage etc although most are just a novelty

Different people, different experience :)  I have had quite a few Nokias, the last one being a 6310i which the wife now has.

The only 2 non-Nokia phones I've had (got one now :| ) have had problems that get to me. The 6310i has probably been the best phone I've had - just let down by it's size (a little bit too big). Also, I really miss the desk charger/cradle and car kit. Oh well, that's progress for you

Ye thats the best nokia to date i think. All of our vans have h/f kits and use the 6310 and 6310i. They rarely go wrong and have decant sized buttons .
