Alloys
« on: March 26, 2008, 21:47:40 »
Chatting to my mate who runs a tyre company, he told me that alloys are fetching £25 each as scrap, i tried to get rid of a set of 4 disco 2 alloys on ebay for £40, had no takers, so i am now off to the scrappy

Last time I weighed in a 3 spoke RR alloy made £8 (no tyre) and i wouldnt expect it to go up that much  :? will have to weigh in the P38 alloy I bought  for the tyre  ;)

Ally wheels are around £1000/tonne...a RRC vogue 3 spoke is about 10kg....you do the maths, they're worth about a tenner scrap.
Funnily enough thats probably why i got £20 for 2 on wednesday at the scrap place.

As a comparison they were paying
Ally wheels £1000/tonne
Ally cans £550
Steel £140  (its gone up quite a bit in a few months)
Clean ally £800
