High pressure side of the (in tank
) fuel pump may have given up - when mine failed, the truck would start and idle fine, and get up to about 25mph...........it took me a while to realise that with the ignition in position 2, I could not hear the familiar whine of the pump as it builds up pressure !

Failed pump (as mentioned) stuck EGR, seized wastegate on the turbo....
Or the Defender is in limp home mode for some reason (but the MIL would be on).
