Diggerland
« on: April 09, 2008, 17:03:36 »
Just back from a cracking day at Diggerland excellent fun if your kids are machine mad as they get to drive everything and dig holes with the machines
this ride is not for the faint hearted if you have a driver with an evil streak either i can only say its best not to eat beforehand :->

There's one just over 2 miles from where we live, but not been yet.

A work-collegue went & was not impressed, as his wife (& 3 year old daughter), who were obviously not 'playing' were still asked to pay the relevant entry fees - not simply a 'spectator fee' at the most!!

I went to the one near Newcastle and was less than impressed with the tired & basic nature of the building and catering and even less impressed by the staff. I saw at least two staff running stands with moving plant who were wering trainers and shell suits in ankle deep mud with moving plant cabbying about. No high viz vests, no safety shoes and no customer service!

IMHO a fantastic idea badly executed.

well i can only speak as i find on the day and i was at the kent one which seemed ok to me, i can understand BTM,s comment about the spectator fee, maybe they need to have a wristband so they know who,s playing? but then thats open to people paying for one and using it for four i suppose :-k
catering seemed ok what i saw of it i didnt partake though all the staff seemed helpful and were good with the kids from what i saw

I went to the Durham one three years back, It was an excellent day out, We were issued wrist bands if we paid the full drivers fee and some of our party only paid a few quid to spectate. Yep the b uilding could have done with a lick of paint but that didn't detract from a good day out.

I have been to the one in Medway Kent several times now. I took my youngest when he was three, and took him on the rides with me. He loved it. We go at least twice a year. Mainly for the Kids of course. :)
