How much to replace a discovery floor section in labour .He's already got the panels which are

Full floor

Both side repair sections

Both under floor strenghen pieces

id say around 6 hours roughly

I would say it depends on the condition of the metal you have to weld to and what equipment you have to do the job.

ideally u need a loads of wd40, wire brush ,socket and screwdriver sets, welder and id use a rep saw instead of the grinder to save the sparks burning the interior

in my exsperiance :^o :lol: :lol:i would say 8 hours labour and if i was doing it for a friend lets say i would charge  :-k £10 an hour. hope this helps muddydisco :dance:

If he does all the prep work, ie removing all the trim and seat belts etc, even maybe chopping out the rusty panel. I'd say 3-4 hours,

that keeps the price down.

Just to say though, there are 4 supports under the floor, 2 large, 2 small.

I am hating this job it takes for ever to drill the spot welds out - very tedious!

Progress! I have now plated it all up. Just waiting for the floor cross members to arrive from paddocks. Then I can finish the welding and seam seal it all up and give every think a coat of paint.

Whilst I am waiting I am going to start drilling out the holes for the pop rivets for the boot floor.

Finally finished. Not sure about whether to leave it in the power coated black or to paint a layer of red over the top of it.

nice to see i am not the only one with a dodgy floor at the moment.

At least you still had something to fix the new floor back too. looks a nice job.

Me and the lad at work are gonna do the passenger side panel of the rear and a section at the base of the 'C' pillar then I'm hoping to have gotten to the rust on the floor itself before its bad enough to hole it - I say hoping, knowing that the first bit I attack with the wire brush will result in daylight, but I'm an eternal optimist.

There does seem to be a bit of a rash of boot side/floor problems at the minute though eh?

Nice job, but DEFINATELY paint it!, protect it as much as you can, because what comes as standard is pants!
