WHAT'S IT WORTH???
« on: April 21, 2008, 14:42:21 »
Hi Guys,
.........as it says, I'm seriously thinking about selling my Lightweight as I just don't really use it these days, if we go out playing I use the Disco as it's more comfortable, warmer and also safer as we usually have the kids with us and there's no hardtop, rear seats, or roll bar etc in the lightweight, it's in pretty fair condition, it's running on Disco steels with 235x85x16 colway AT's at the minute, and I put a Perkins Prima 2.0 Turbo Diesel (ex Montego) in it using the Dudleigh conversion kit, it also has a snorkle (homemade with the montego air filter and air pipe to the turbo and £10 of Marley drainpipe, but it does work OK, I've tried it) also a couple of spotlights wired into the main beam which are switchable, a swivel recovery point on the front, and rear recovery points, also has a tool/recovery kit box with two lockable hasps on bolted into the back body, it also has a one piece screen with triple wipers, (all going the same way) as with all series  motors it's pretty basic inside but it does have a couple of Volvo seats in which aid the comfort (and the suspension) a little, she was originally registered on a Y reg when 'domobbed' in 1983, but I re-registered her on an age related plate when I bought her in 2003,  it's M.O.T'd till October 19th 2008, and taxed till end of August 2008, so is it worth me selling it or is it ony going to fetch silly money?, 'cos if it is I'll just hang on to it, heres a few pics, just click on the image to enlarge it.

£2,000 springs to mind, permitting everything is functional and the vehicle structure is solid.

Id say its worth around £1500-£1800, but a gold lightweight with perkins diesel fitted and snorkle sold on ebay recent for £1020, it was very similar spec and standard to yours! sell the discovery and fit a roll cage, parabolics and rear seats?
