Witnessed this morning :

Busy junction with traffic lights, lights turn green, vehicle ahead indicates left. As he begins his turn a cyclist decides to go straight on - oblivious to the turning vehicle...vehicle slams on anchors and gets a rude hand signal from the cyclist. This little act obviously causes braking down the line of traffic.....luckily no bumps.

Sometimes I think cyclists need a test, or at least an understanding of turn signals and the HIGHWAY code. I'm stunned that my kids have not had to take cycling proficiency tests - what is the world coming to. Blame the car driver for ALL accidents?

Nope, most of the accidents involving cyclists are "caused" by lorry drivers, who are, to the last one, unprofessional and poorly trained. At least, that's what some moron tried to convince me of. You should have seen his face when I showed him my driving license. Funnily enough, I have never seen him in the pub anymore.
*coughs politely* and mentions the fact that hubby is a HGV driver/Motorcycle rider/4x4 owmer and driver - covers in excess of 75,000 miles a year and BOTH acidents he has been involved in - in the 20 odd years of driving were caused by the other party being oblivious to him (both times whilst driving HGV's) renault Laguna watching the Red arrows train in Lincolnshire - and female car driver blind to the fact that red bright lights and sudden deceleration mean the vehicle in front is stopping!!!!!!

Me thinks my sarcasm was lost when you read it :D

I drive HGVs for a living. I was just relaying a comment made by some empty brained cyclist (no offence, BTM) that came to light when a mate of mine was telling us how he saw a geezer almost flatened by a lorry that was, surprise, surprise, turning left. As usual, the suicidal maniac tried to undertake.

-If you see an indicator flashing, it's safe to assume it has a bulb in it, nothing more.

I once broke this rule years ago and wrote my car off.
