I had thought of the weld idea first off. The advantage of the pin being I can now guarantee the outer edge of the pad is on the outer edge of the disc by drilling the pad in situ. The next set of pads will simply be drilled from the old pads. I have drills at home but can only weld when I am at work. Its amazing how many of us Landy owners are allergic to spending money, isn't that how Landrover were always meant to be, easy and cheap to fix. Some of the bodges we used to do on Landys when I was in the army would not be too out of place on this web site. The best I can remember was a smashed piston due to a valve head dropping off. Sump off , remove big end, push con rod up as far as possible and drive back on three cylinders. Not to recommended unless you had a fleet of series 2A,s as big as the Army had. :army:
