Manual Fans!!
« on: April 24, 2008, 19:05:43 »
Hi All,

Been to breakers and found a twin set of electric fans to go on "the ole tart"  ('86 RRC 3.5 EFI on gas).  Fitting should be okay. but need to know where to fit the manual overide switch in relation to feed wire or earth wire?  :-k

Been informed that I can somehow use the thermostatic control thru the air con.  Not good on auto electrics but will have a go at anything with your help.

MC being down over weekend could be a worry tho   8-[

So all advice welcomed but keep it simple  please.
Rgds  David

If you want to find the air conn switch for the fans it's in the thermostat elbow, it's quite big on the V8 but for me it closes with the engine already a bit hot, so i used a fixed temp switch from Merlin Motorsport and adjusted the switch on temp by locating it 1/3 down the rad.  Otherwise Wizard sells an adjustable thermostat like the Kenlowe one, you can wire the whoole thing from the battery then using a relay.
